Our Mission Is to Cultivate Compassion

At Eveoke Dance Theatre we must act compassionately to cultivate compassion.  Eveoke’s community building programs bring us together around issues of political, social and aesthetic import and help make the world a better place.  Here, art isn’t created for art’s sake.  It’s created for great purpose.  And when the curtain is raised, so is awareness.

Working Together

Eveoke’s performances are shared experiences that inspire audiences to take a stand, live and act compassionately; our classes bring people together around shared educational experiences making a more thinking and feeling community of compassionate social activists; and Celebrate Dance Festival brings the dance and  patron communities together in beautiful Balboa Park, sharing in a civic, aesthetic experience that resonates throughout the year.

Building Community

It’s all about access.  At Eveoke we believe art is too important to be inaccessible to those who need it the most.  That is why at Eveoke, our core value is providing access to our community building programs.  As much as one-half of all season performances are made available to the public through Pay What You Can tickets, half of all Eveoke’s students join the Tuition Assistance Program and Celebrate Dance Festival is without audition and free to the public.
