Eveoke
Dance Theatre offers Outreach Programs throughout
San Diego in partnership with schools, community
centers and social service organizations. We also
work in Health & Human Services, Critical
Hours and 6 to 6 Programs. We
have also developed pedagogical curricula for
classroom teachers wanting to incorporate arts
and movement into their daily academic curriculum.
Eveoke's
Concert Company dancers teach classes, residencies
and workshops, and our virtuosic Performing
Group dances in more than 60 events annually,
reaching out to more than 8,000 people in school
assemblies, fairs and festivals. Eveoke offers
several works from the repertory of the Performing
Group from which to choose.
We
offer a variety of dance styles in our classes,
workshops and performances. While we often teach
and perform hip-hop dance at schools, we also
offer jazz, modern, ballet and tap. Our classes
and performances can be thematically tailored
to meet any community or school's needs. Some
favorite themes or focus areas for classes and
performances include self-esteem, personal physical
health (with a strong anti-tobacco message), non-violent
problem solving, and literacy (Reading, wRiting,
aRithmetic and aRt.) We provide sound systems,
appropriate music and materials for all of our
programs.
